Event Information
The Vulcaniser course is a 5 km circuit. Spectators are very welcome at this event, however, you must ensure you stay out of the way of competitors and all children must be closely supervised. The course has some excellent viewing spots and photographic opportunities of both scenery and riding action. Bring good footwear and warm clothing.

Horleys Replace sports drink, Dole bananas and a snack will be provided at the finish area.

The access road is not suitable for low clearance vehicles

1. Check in at the finish area even if you do not complete the event.

2. Respect the use of private property by leaving gates as you find them, don’t spook animals and don’t drop rubbish. Don’t bring dogs.

3. The event will be held in any weather unless officials decide safety is an issue. Mud tyres are recommended in wet conditions as some sections of the course will be slippery.

4. We reserve the right to alter the course or format of the race if deemed necessary.

Provisional results will be available at the event. Full results will be published on our website.

Directions
From Christchurch head north on SH1. Turn right into Reeces Road at Omihi (by the school) about 10 km north of the Waipara junction. Travel up this road for 11 km. Turn left into a hilly gravel farm road (sign posted), and it is approx 3km to the parking area. There may be a walk/bike of 700 m (depending on condition of access road on race day) of relatively easy gradient 4WD track. From Christchurch, allow approx. 80 min to get to the parking area.

Laps will be assigned as follows:
Elite Men - 6 laps
Elite Women - 5 laps
Age category Men (U17 to Masters 2) - 4 laps
Age category Men (U15 & Masters 3) - 3 laps
Age category Women - 3 laps
Age category Women (U15 & Masters 3) - 2 laps

If you would usually ride in a Recreational category we recommend you participate in the "Open Day".

Schedule
SATURDAY 19 JANUARY:
Open Day and Practice
The course will be open for casual riders and those wanting to practice for Sunday's racing.
Please register before riding - registration from 9:30am
Course likely to be open from 10am to 5pm (that is, first aid personnel will be on-site during this period)
If coming to the Open Day we would love you to come back on the Sunday and cheer on those who are racing. The more noise down in the forest the better!

SUNDAY 20 JANUARY:
Races
9:00am - Registration opens

10:15am - Briefing and Race start for:
U15, U17, Senior, Master 1, Master 2, Master 3

1:00pm - Prizegiving

1:45pm - Briefing and Race start for:
Elite Men, Elite Women, U23, U19

4:45pm - Prizegiving

Prizes will be awarded to the placegetters. For prizegiving, categories with 5 or less participants will be combined with the closest relevant category.
